At Milnrow we look to give all our young players the best training and playing experience, with dedicated coaches that will ensure everyone goes away with a smile and wanting to come back to the next training session. Within Milnrow we have a large number of groups of all ages for young people to enjoy game based activities to help them develop teamwork and new skills along with new friendships. On a Saturday Morning the club host our ECB All-stars programme for 5 to 8 year olds. These sessions run from 9:30 until 11:00 but these tend to sometimes run over when we are having fun. We also are running the ECB Dynamos programme and that’s for 8 to 11 and is the perfect introduction into a new sport.
The Juniors at Milnrow are part of the Greater Manchester Cricket League and play throughout the season in different aged league structure; these run from Under 9’s, 11’s, 13’s , 15’s and 17’s all playing competitive games on a set night or Sunday morning throughout the season. The training for all the groups apart from the All-stars is done on a Friday night at the Ground from April through to September and starts at 6pm and finishes around 7:30 or maybe later if we are still having fun, which is every week. Our coaches are dedicated volunteers who are fully qualified and have undertaken many courses including first aid and a full DBS check.Throughout the winter we have some indoor training and we use Hollingworth Academy and other venues to facilitate this. These sessions are usually run on a Monday night from 6 till 7 for the under 9’s and 11’s and 7 till 8 for the under 13’s. The other groups join in with the seniors at other venues including the Cricket Asylum. If your child is interested or would like to come and try the sport please don’t hesitate to contact us and we will get back in touch and ensure you are put in the right session or if you have any questions please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
